MEET BRENDA
Brenda Hayden is a highly accomplished Realtor®/Broker associated with Keller Williams-University City, making a significant impact in the real estate industry for the past 23 years. With a rich history of leadership and service, Brenda has emerged as a prominent figure, showcasing dedication and excellence in her field.
A native of Charlotte, Brenda was born in Florida and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University in Boston and later pursued an MBA from Queens University. While Brenda explored various careers, including insurance and credit finance, her true passion found its home in real estate, where she has dedicated over two decades of her professional life.
Brenda holds a pivotal role in the Canopy Realtor® Association, having served as its president in 2019 and being recognized as the 2022 Canopy Realtor of the Year. Her influence extends to the Canopy MLS, where she held the position of past-president. Additionally, Brenda served as the past-chair of the Real Estate & Building Industry Coalition (REBIC).
Beyond her professional achievements, Brenda is deeply involved in industry organizations, including Canopy Realtor® Association, NC REALTORS®, National Association of Realtors® (NAR), and the National Association of Real Estate Broker. Her leadership spans local, state, and national levels, where she has actively participated in various roles.
Brenda's commitment to community service is evident through her extensive volunteer work with the Canopy Housing Foundation since 2005. She has chaired the Fair and Affordable Housing Advisory Group and contributed significantly to the Foundation's Realtors® Care Day Core Committee and Housing Committee. Brenda has also served on the Foundation's Board of Directors.
In addition to her real estate involvement, Brenda has dedicated her time to civic and community initiatives. She served on the City of Charlotte Community Relations Committee, the Quality-of-Life Focus Group, and the Incentive Based Inclusionary Housing Community Advisory Committee.
Brenda's contributions are not limited to her professional and civic engagements. She is also a graduate of Canopy Association's Leadership Academy, showcasing her commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
Married to James Hayden, Sr., Brenda takes pride in being a devoted parent to two children. When not immersed in the real estate world, she enjoys quality time with her family, competes in bodybuilding, and actively volunteers with non-profit organizations dedicated to eliminating homelessness.
